More of a popular account than a scholarly one, this book covers many details about Alberta’s Prohibition not told in wider-ranging works on the subject. Not strictly chronological and without an index, the text should be to read closely so as not to miss important, relevant and fascinating historical details during the eight years of the absence of “the demon rum.” Many excellent photographs from both the Galt Museum and Archives and Glenbow Archives enhance the story.
